End-of-October news roundup

Hi Pack 399 parents,

Thanks to everyone who has attended our den/pack meetings thus far and kept your Cub Scouts on track with their requirements. Also, thanks to those who came for the Monster Mash last weekend at Camp Lazarus. Haunted trail, cookies, pumpkin carving—it was quite an adventure! Lots of smiles all around. I’ll post some pictures soon.

Here are some reminders, including info Paul has already e-mailed (just covering all our bases here!).

  • For our pack meeting this Tuesday at 7pm, we will meet at the Violet Township fire station on Refugee Road.
  • Paul will have adult registration forms for everyone who has assumed a leadership role in the pack. These must be completed, along with online youth protection training. (Paul e-mailed everyone the link, but you can also get there via our links page.)
  • The weekend of November 1, there’s a training event for adult leaders–BALOO (Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation), OWL (Outdoor Webelos Leader Training), and OLS (Outdoor Leader Skills). Paul is the only BALOO-trained leader in our pack, so if he’s not available to lead a pack camping trip, we can’t go. (Paul e-mailed everyone a link with more information. If you didn’t see the e-mail but you’re interested in attending, please let us know.)
  • Boy Scout Troop 256 is inviting all Webelos to camp with them at Camp Falling Rock the weekend of November 8-10. If you’re interested, we’ll resend the organizer’s contact information.

Finally, please let us know if you’re not receiving Paul’s e-mails. Thanks!

And we’re off!

It was great seeing our Cub Scouts come together for the first time this school year! We’re happy to see some familiar faces, and we welcome all those who are new.

Parents, we’re going to do our best to keep this site current, relevant, and helpful. We’re always open to any and all feedback, concerns, questions, and offers to help. We’ll keep adding event dates and helpful links as they occur to us, but if you have information you’d like to share with the pack, feel free! You can also post on (and please “like”) our Facebook page, Pack 399 Pickerington.

Time to add some Simon Kenton Council community-wide events to the site calendar. Thanks so much for your participation. It’s going to be a great year.
